Value of the Month: "Matthew 18"

15"If your brother sins against you, go and show him his fault, just between the two of you. If he listens to you, you have won your brother over. 16But if he will not listen, take one or two others along, so that 'every matter may be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.' 17If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church; and if he refuses to listen even to the church, treat him as you would a pagan or a tax collector.

Notice the flow of what happens right before verse 15: Jesus talks about the lost sheep, and how "in the same way your Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should be lost."  Directly after the Matthew 18 section, Jesus talks about forgiving your brother seventy-seven times.  Consider the love, grace and forgiveness that pervades this chapter!  THAT is the main idea of Matthew 18: forgiveness and love.  That should be our motivation and our main application of Jesus' words.

Classic Worship

Please let me know if you would like to be involved in this service! (special music, worship leaders, piano players).  The response from the worship ministry has not been as overwhelming as I first thought, so we could use your help.  Email me and let me know if and how you would like to serve.

The End of an Era

1 more week left!  I will only send the blog to http://fccworshipministry.blogspot.com/ You will no longer get this email direct from me.  So if you want to continue to get the blogs, please sign up there by October 1.  So if you're reading this and it looks like a normal email, go sign up.  If this looks like a "blogspot" page from Google, you're good.

I enjoyed the "Phill obsessed with black" post on the FCCN worship ministry Facebook page.  You all are very creative. :)

Jake is on vacation this week: he'll be back on Sunday.  It's lonely here in the office...
