FCCN Worship Ministry Blog: April 8

Concert for the Principal: April 25 (6:00-7:30 P.M.)

We have invite cards & posters ready to go, special thanks to Lynn Drew and Holly Brown! You can pick them up Sunday from me or at both welcome centers), or you can use the worship ministry Facebook page to invite your friends.  Just go to the FCCN worship ministry Facebook page and click on events.

If you’re playing and singing a special song, I hope you’re getting ready!  The week before the concert won’t be a “practice,” more like a run through like we do on Sunday mornings.  Bring your “A” game. J

Value of the Month: Ephesians 4:29

Ephesians 4:29 says: “Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.”

It’s one of the best things in the world: to get a sincere compliment.  It feels good to be on the giving or receiving end.  It is “helpful for building others up according to their needs.”  It’s a simple act that will probably make someone’s day!

On the flip side, “unwholesome” probably is better translated as “corrupt.”  Think of it as rotten fruit or fish.  I know, that’s gross, but what’s worse is to “grieve the Holy Spirit of God” by our filthy talk (Eph. 4:30).  How much better is it to encourage?  That’s like the smell of vanilla cookies warm out of the oven, or a freshly cut lawn without the allergies to go with it.

           God bless you all!
