FCCN Worship Ministry Blog: October 13

Choir & Rhythm Section Practice This Sunday Night

I’d had a blast with you all Sunday night!  Lots of laughs and good singin’.  I hope you enjoyed riding in the van as much as I did.

Yes, we will begin at 6:01 Sunday night.  If you were there last Sunday night, you know why!

Here’s what the evening will look like:

6:01-6:08 Opening Prayer, value of the month and thanks everybody for showin’ up!

6:08-6:10 Discuss “Gloria” and “Jesus Saves”

6:10-6:45 Sectionals: “Gloria” & “Jesus Saves”

6:45-6:50 Random videos: www.youtube.com/watch?v=owGykVbfgUE  www.youtube.com/watch?v=zkd5dJIVjgM&feature=aso

6:50-7:10 Practice “Gloria” & “Jesus Saves” as a full group

7:10 7:10-7:30 Prayer groups

Orchestra Starts Sunday night, November 14!

If you play a brass, woodwind or string instrument, come on out and join us!  We’ll be practicing on Sunday nights for the musical on December 18-19.  See me for the sheet music and full practice schedule.

Value of the Month: Thou Shall Not Covet

“You shall not covet your neighbor's house. You shall not covet your neighbor's wife, or his manservant or maidservant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor" (Exodus 20:17).

The obvious application is to not covet someone else’s talent.  Uh, okay.  Easier said than done.

You know the best way to not covet your neighbor’s solo? David Rinehart at Crossroads told me this: Pray for them.  It’s hard to covet somebody’s solo when you’re lifting their gift up to God.  Some good advice!  Just have a little talk with Jesus…

Random Blog Thought

Jake Miller was in my office this morning!  It was great to catch up with an old friend.  He begins full time worship ministry in Virginia this month!
