Christmas Musical Invite Cards

Christmas musical invite cards are available at both welcome centers.  You can also invite people through Facebook!  An event has been created at the FCCN Worship ministry Facebook page.

Christmas Musical Practices

The Choir, orchestra, rhythm section, media team and drama will practice this Wednesday, Dec. 1 & Sunday, December 5, both from 6:00-7:30 P.M.  The Elementary drama and choir will begin practicing with us in the worship center on December 6, 8 and 10 & 14. Childcare will be provided for every practice.

Value of the Month: Memorization

Become friends with that rewind feature on your CD player.  Try to memorize small chunks at a time.  Listen to a few lines, rewind it, listen to it again.  Repetition of the smaller parts of a whole is the best way to go.

Christmas Musical set Construction

We’ll be moving the set from the bus garage to the worship center this Monday evening (November 29) at 6:00!  We’ll also be setting up choir risers and moving platforms for the orchestra pit.  Come on out and join us!

Christmas Musical Practices

There is NO practice this Sunday (November 28).  The Choir, orchestra, rhythm section, media team and drama will practice on Wednesday, Dec. 1 & Sunday, December 5, both from 6:00-7:30 P.M.  The Elementary drama and choir will begin practicing with us in the worship center on December 6, 8 and 10 & 14. Childcare will be provided for every practice.

Speaking of the Children’s choir Stephanie White would like some assistance with the Children’s choir for the musical.  She’ll be directing, she just needs some help getting the kids on and off stage, etc.  Please contact her at faithfulcpa@att.net

Value of the Month: Memorization

Choir, play that CD all the way to Grandma’s house for Thanksgiving!  Wear it out so you’re ready for our next practice on December 1!

Hands and Feet of Jesus to Families

Our church was contacted by a lady who needs help moving herself and some children into another apartment.  It’s a local move here in Newburgh.  I’m getting some guys together to help her on Saturday morning.  Do you want to help?  We’ll meet by the pool of the Spring View apartments, 4166 Bell Road in Newburgh behind Schnucks at 9:00 A.M.  Ron Rhoads says it’s going to be a nice day to move!

Night of Worship this Saturday night

Brian Walker and Nathan Logston are leading this, and I’m looking forward to just coming to worship! Come join us this coming Saturday from 7-9 for a night of worship in the worship center.  No childcare will be provided.  We'll be walking and worshipping through the story of God: Creation, Incarnation and Recreation.  We'll encounter God in a fresh way through various elements such as a prayer walk, music, and other interactive elements.  Come expecting to meet God and experiencing His story.  And Doug Minor will be playing the djembe, so I’m excited to see that.

7:00-7:30 Everyone in the worship center to practice “Jesus Saves,” “O Holy Night,” “Gloria” and “Joy to the World” together

Please park in the back, observe the dress code, drop off your kiddos in the nursery and be in the worship center at 6:45.  We’ll practice for an hour, and then have breakfast in the gym at 7:45!

Steve Hunter and Rachel Stroud are 2 characters who will be in the 2010 Christmas musical: “Change of heart.”  Would you all mind to become their friends on Facebook?  To find their profile, they are members of the FCCN worship ministry Facebook page. (And you all are like, “What? Why on earth would I do that?”)  Come on, ask me, I dare ya.

Value of the Month: Memorization

One of the best ways to memorize something is to involve other people in the process.  Tell them you’re trying to memorize it and they’ll be happy to help you.  Why, because in these days of Google and Iphones, the lost art of memorization often arouses people’s curiosity.  For example, I was quoting the 1^st verse of Ephesians 4 “as a prisoner ‘of’ the Lord instead of “a prisoner ‘for’ the Lord” until my memorization buddy corrected me.  I’d hate to quote scripture with the wrong words…
