Elementary Choir, Worship Choir and Rhythm Section Leads Worship this Sunday!
I'm so excited! This is our first time leading worship with the elementary choir too! We'll see you all in the chapel at 8:45 to warm up. Parents, if you are dropping your children off (but not singing in the worship choir), please send them to the elementary big room. Our volunteers will lead the choir on stage and safely back to the elementary big room where you can pick them up again after services are over.
Christmas Musical Auditions
Everyone who tried out made it! It was great to hear some real quality music last Tuesday, some familiar faces and some new ones! I'll look forward to hearing the music again during the musical. Thanks to everyone who tried out. And if you didn't, maybe you should next time...
Worship and Elementary Choir Practice This Sunday Night

We'll set up the risers at 5:00 Sunday night if you want to come early and use your muscles: it's a great way to burn off that big Sunday dinner.
It's also sci-fi night! We'll meet in the worship center. Here's what we'll do:
6:00 Opening Prayer and "Darth Vader's great listening skills" sci-fi clip
6:05-6:40 Practice through the music for Oct 2
6:40-7:00 Prayer Groups
7:00-7:20 Practice through the music for Oct. 2 with the elementary choir
7:20-7:30 Go over dress code, final instructions for Oct. 2.
Christmas Musical Tryouts: Tuesday night, Sept. 27
We'll start at 6:00, but let me know if you want to tryout and I'll assign you a time that works for your schedule.

We had a great turn out for our first practice, I had lots of fun! Did you miss it? There's still time....
It's football night this week! I'll be wearing my high school football jersey, complete with orange pants (Go Northrop Bruins!). We'll start in the chapel at 6:00. Here's what practice will look like:
Do you have a Christmas song you want to perform at this year's Christmas musical? Get it ready and join us that night. Just make sure it's a "Christmas" song. :)

Praise Team practices move back to Tuesday night
We're moving practices back to Tuesday starting next week: Sept. 13. Modern will still practice from 6:00-8:00, Classic from 8:00-8:45.
Random thought: we've had these practices on just about every night of the week in the 6 years I've served here. What say ye to Friday nights next year? No? How 'bout Monday mornings at 9:00 A.M.? Guy Hall and I would like that. :)

We'll see you in the chapel, bring your red white and blue for the first night! Drop the elementary kids off in the elementary big room. They'll be part of the Sunday night programming up there, then join us for practice at 7:00 P.M.
Value of the Month: Matthew 18
15 “If your brother or sister sins against you, go and point out their fault, just between the two of you. If they listen to you, you have won them over. 16 But if they will not listen, take one or two others along, so that ‘every matter may be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.’ 17 If they still refuse to listen, tell it to the church; and if they refuse to listen even to the church, treat them as you would a pagan or a tax collector."
I love Jesus' words here. Especially the part that says, "just between the two of you." How wonderful it is when someone pulls you aside privately and tells you what you need to hear for your own good? Well, probably not completely wonderful, but it's a lot better than 30 other people hearing about it before you do.
Jesus' command for us is simple and clear: first go to the person who did you wrong. Do it privately and try to work it out in love. If you call yourself a Christian, a Christ follower, then you gotta do it that way.

FCCN Worship Ministry Blog: September 1
This Sunday!
We're just a days away from telling an incredible story of redemption: lots of videos, music, live interaction. I hope you don't miss it!
Choir begins Sunday night, Sept 11
The worship choir begins in the chapel a week from Sunday! We'll be crankin' in up this fall: we've got some really upbeat songs planned. The elementary choir will help us lead worship every time we're up to lead worship. So bring your kids with you!
If you play in the orchestra you can pick up your music on September 11 as well, but we won't begin practicing until November.
