Thank you all for the pleasure to serve along side you for more than seven years. We have laughed, cried, sang, played, moved to a new building, built 2 story set pieces, seen video and lighting changes, traveled and performed at countless events in the tristate, put on concerts to benefit our Southern Indiana community. We've seen hundreds of people baptized, and seen the worship ministry triple and quadruple in number while the church at FCCN has grown as well. I came to you all as a young 20 something with a beautiful bride and no children. The Foust family leaves you now with my beautiful bride, 3 young children in tow, and with me 10 pounds heavier and a few more grey hairs. I wouldn't have traded it for anything to see first hand the Body of FCCN being the hands and feet of Jesus to families! It's been quite a ride, and will always love all of you and will miss you.
I have accepted the call from the elders of Christ's Hope Ministries and Church in Fort Wayne to be their next Coordinating Minister. Among my duties there is to lead the staff, congregation and to preach in a creative way every week. I feel God's call on my life to not just preach, but to tell a Bible story in a creative way with music, video, lights, and a bicycle if needed. :)
Most of my family lives in Fort Wayne, so I think this is God's plan for us. The Bible says that "Anyone who does not provide for their relatives, and especially for their own household, has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever" (1 Timothy 5:8). So along with a clear call from God to preach in a creative way, I think this journey to Fort Wayne is what God wants for the five of us at FCCN who bear the last name "Foust."
Our last Sunday with you all will be Sunday, September 30. I look forward to continuing to minister here until that day. As you know, the worship ministry has had a biblical model of plurality of leadership for some time now. So I am confident that our volunteer equippers, worship leaders, instrumentalists, singers, creative material volunteers, sign choir members and media team will do a fantastic job in leading the worship ministry until the next worship minister is hired.
Most importantly of all, remember that our home is not in Southern Indiana, or Fort Wayne, Indiana. Our home is in heaven, and I will see all of you there. In heaven: where we won't have to practice, plunk parts, practice chords or push buttons: no practice, just worship.
I'll see you there.
Phill
