Value of the Month: “Be on Time”

I learned a valuable lesson about being on time while I attended Northrop High School up in Fort Wayne.  (We would have gone to school today despite the snow, btw, shout out to all you Warrick County School Corporation folks in your pj’s right now J.).  Northrop’s administration had a “zero tolerance” for being late.  If you showed up late to your 8:00 A.M. class, it landed you in detention at the end of the day, no exceptions.  I was in detention twice for being late.  I thought it was a little harsh.  One day I knew I was going to be late, so I skipped school that day.  Don’t tell my dad, he still doesn’t know. J

As you know, we value starting and ending on time around here.  I respect your time and really appreciate your service!  So, showing up late will not land you in detention, but I will speak with you privately about it.  Not because I enjoy confrontation, but I care about you and your service here, and I hope that it’s as much of a joy for you as it is for me.

          God bless,

Have a great valentine’s day with your spouse, girlfriend, boyfriend, whatever. J  We’ll see you again on the 21st

Value of the Month: “Be on Time”

Yes, it’s important, but sometimes it’s not easy: especially with small children.  If I’m going somewhere with all 5 of us in the Foust family, we have to plan to leave way earlier than usual.  It’s just part of having a young family.  But I’m setting an example of integrity for some very small eyes to see.  When they realize that Dad shows up on time, I’m hoping that discipline will be something that they pass to their kids someday too.

No choir Practice until Feb. 21

Thanks for a fun practice last night!  We had lots of laughs together: being with all of you is one of the highlights of my week.

Remember, we’ll take this Sunday and next Sunday off (super bowl and Valentine’s Day).  We’ll see you all on February 21.

Value of the Month: “Be on Time”

We’ll the baby woke me up way early this morning, so I was here at FCCN long before office hours started.  I guess the value for the month of February is back with a vengeance!

It’s now engrained in our culture here in the FCCN worship ministry: we start promptly on time and we end promptly on time.  I do that because I appreciate you all and respect your time!  You’ll all busy with work, school, family, projects, facebook, etc., and I value your willingness to serve in the worship ministry on top of that.  The least I can do is begin and end on time for your sake!
